The Final Phase

I needed a break from the stuff I've been doing recently and decided to return to finish a small idea I started at the same time as "A Familiar Encounter". I started with much of the same instruments, but eventually it grew a bit larger. Somehow, despite being one of the faster loops I've written (200 bpm), it's now one of the longest things I've uploaded. Funny how that works out.

There's certainly still a lot that could be done with it, but I'm ready to move on for now. I may return to this sometime in the future (if I still like it) and do a remake with better instruments. It would be nice if I could replace the guitar soundfont with some live work :3

General info:

Tempo: 200 BPM
Length: 293 measures
DAW: Cubase 7
VSTi Used: Halion Sonic 2, Halion Symphonic Orchestra, Triebwerk, Dark Planet, Various sfz/sf2 files

One of the best music I've ever heard. Btw it says that it's a loop but it's not much of a loop.

You also use B-3/B-4! Cubase 7 is a nice DAW. I had been using it for a month lol. This piece is awesome and one of my favorites! Keep making good stuff like this!!!

Deemo-R responds:

Thanks! It's true (if you're talking about Hammond), I did use that as well - I took it from Halion Sonic so the timbre wasn't exactly to my liking but I didn't really know much about that stuff at the time. If/when I remake this I'll probably get a better B-3 sound in there! :)

Always nice to see other folks trying out Cubase! I'm not looking to market it, but it's served me well over the years. I've tried other DAWs but mostly stick to Cubase for my larger projects. I like the workflow a lot. This year has been all sorts of madness already, but I'm working on some new tracks sort of like this one - just with my current sounds instead of the semi-retro stuff I relied on in 2015.
