I was recording some quick samples for a client, recorded this, shortened it up a bit and thought, hey, why not share it since I haven't posted here in awhile? I wish I hadn't deleted the original recordings so it'd sound more natural.

Music by Kevin MacLeod, bless him. Voices are all me.

The moment I heard "I'm going to a birthday party!" I knew you were doing lines from the Digimon movie! I love that movie so much, I grew up watching it, so I really love how you were able to showcase the emotion from this scene so well!
My only negative thought on it is the overused and unfitting background music. I feel like you could have used something else that would fill up the silent spaces much better, and still flow with the mood of the situation. I feel like the music is a little too... "silly goings-on in a convenience store" feel, rather than embarrassing letter being sent by annoying little sister.

I do really like the transitions in the voices, though. Did you record all the lines for one character, and then the other? Or did you record one character's line, then the other character's line, then the first's line, rinse and repeat? I'm interested in voice acting, as well, so since you seem to know what you're doing, I'd love to know your secret!

AnnieQuinn responds:

Hey! Thanks for your kind words and critique. :) Yeah, it's always rough finding BGM for little scenes like this, so I definitely could've done something different.

If I remember correctly, I recorded all the lines for one character and then would record the other character's lines so that character could 'react'. I usually like doing that when I do conversation scenes like this. Though sometimes lines from the first character might not fit with lines from the second character, so I'll redo to react to the second character, and so forth. It's just trying to figure out what works for the characters and what sounds most natural for them. :)

I love this. It's so cute! Is there any chance I could possibly get the recordings separately in order to use them for a practice animation of mine? I'm getting into the Source Filmmaker, and I'd love to use the recordings for lip synching characters I will use. I'd give you full credit for the voices, obviously. I'd love to get in touch with you in order to get your approval.

If you don't want to, that's fine too!

AnnieQuinn responds:

Hey there! I'd be happy to provide those to you. Unfortunately, this was recorded in one session so I couldn't give you the separate files, seeing as they were never saved that way. But, I can most certainly rerecord these separately and give them to you. I'll send you a PM with a link to those either today or tomorrow!

Awesome! Really love the voice transitions...makes me believe two individuals were speaking....Scary in a good way! ^^

AnnieQuinn responds:

Haha! Glad you liked it!
