It's my first long weekend since Christmas so I decided to work on some music today.

Been going over a lot of my older tracks recently and realised that there a lot of elements and techniques that I just don't use anymore.

So I decided to bust out a bit of a track today reminding myself that distortion is still a thing, metallic percussion still sounds nice and beats that breath in and out have a nice way of carrying a track.

It's kind of a rushed project but It feels good to bring strings back into a project especially now I've got valhalla shimmer to make it sound more atmospheric.

This is an awesome tune, it has that gritty, rugged feel that gives me goosebumps and makes me want to reflect on a moment. The percussion sits perfectly too.

What I would have loved is if at 2.40, the melody came in stronger and more powerful and maintained that level. Maybe a strong solo instrument carrying the song through that final crescendo. The instrument that comes in at exactly 2.38, that instrument, but really letting itself go melodically, possibly with a very subtle and light accompanying instrument.

Overall I still really enjoy the song, but just wish it had that uplifting power at the end.

Awesome! Is it alright if i use for a game? I'll add credit.

PompYin responds:

Go for it Smiley, more than happy for people to use the music in their own projects.

Appreciate the credit as well, keep us updated on it and good luck.

Exactly what I needed to hear this morning. Strings sound great, as does that gritty, breathing percussion. Beautiful construct of electronic music here. I don't think I can really do it justice with words, actually. :)

PompYin responds:

Thanks for the kind words Andrea,

Been reviewing lots of work on here over the last week and 'Window' was one of my favorites, I'll be sure to check out your other work.

Beautiful piece. Love the downtempo grit, guitar flourishes. Gonna be chilling out to this track for a while -- thanks for the music.

PompYin responds:

Cheers for the kind words Lapse, seriously though 'I can't get Dressed Today' was great. Tried getting some vocal textures similar to this in one of the tracks I'm working on.

Made me realise that I lacked singing talent but you know what, that's what effects are for anyway haha.

Thanks again.

Dig the bass. The chord things at 1:36 sound great. The pingy arpeggio thing sounds cool. The big crash thing is a touch loud; otherwise, I dig this track.

PompYin responds:

Thanks for the feedback man, It's much appreciated.
