This song, this very song, it easily takes the spot for me as one of the true musical wonders I've had pleasure being exposed to.
Right off you're hit with soothing ambience with, an ethereal piano accompanied by an alluring synth. Minimalistic soundscape measuredly develops into an utmost candy of a techno beat, sparkly sounds, quite resembling crystals (hence the name, I guess), left and right lead you into the core of the song, a soft kick slowly becomes more and more apparent grinding out the gorgeous aerial sonance, sounding like a heartbeat in fiery anticipation for the core of the song.
The core of the song itself feels like a striking event, it constantly shifts from one sound to another in a matter of a couple of bars, while remaining so consistently ethereal and light. Its a whole song in itself, to be fair. It kicks off with simple kick-clap-kick-clap pattern underlined by simple synth melody beneath. It repeats itself twice and the melody is replaced by another synth going back and forth with a slick smooth piano above all. A bunch of rapid drums introduces a new part with yet another luminous synth to back everything up. A bit of tranquility before the actual climax, and the eccentric energetic synths fill up the sonic bubble wrapping your ears and you're drown in majesty of the ongoing commotion. Later yet, another rich synth could be heard echoing all over the place, taking up entire space as it appears.
Calmness. Everything has reverted to where it had started. A lonely synth melody with soft pad underneath it, subtly glooming in the void.
All this rollercoaster of emotion and delight is composed rather sumptuously. A techno beat incased in ambient from all sides isnt something unique at the time I'm writing this review, but I suppose it has been a huge deal back in 2006. After all, it was the first of a kind song I heard and I keep it close to my heart. Consciously or not, it helped me develop my music taste later down the road and I'm glad I stumbled upon this jewel.
