Sooo NG, here's a small update along with this new track (which I did not post a WIP of). The reason I missed last month's upload is because I made a remix and have not received permission to upload it here on NG.

Anyway, as for the song, I felt like I had a great start, but the progression eventually went downhill. Maybe if you didn't read that, you wouldn't have noticed, but I felt like I needed to say it.

In any case, I'm fairly happy with how all the synths are sounding.

i like this song but due to the fact its almost bass-less it spreads an empty feeling..
if your going for a house/electroish song, ever again (like this song) with sharp leads you really need, no you HAVE to have more bass.. otherwise it feels like you put an EQ on and cut the bass..

bass isnt necessarily a 'filler' to make a track sounding fuller but in this case it is.

anwho i really like the leads in this and the simple/basic notes you used to do the melodies.
its catchy, simple and will always work.

DjAbbic responds:

Yeah I have definitely learnt from this. I know what you mean by the bass is a filler in these tracks, since the synths are dependent on being 'full' and 'huge', which means they must cover almost the full frequency spectrum, which I personally think I nailed in my track 'Antiphysics' (whoopeee).

I'm glad that this has taken a beating for the lack of bass though, because now I make sure that the bass isn't lacking :P.

Thanks for the review!

TBH, I have no problems with this song, it's pretty much perfect. I don't see the issue with the bass, it sounds fine. I was gonna do a more constructive review, but this song is to awesome for me to find problems with. If I had 1 complaint, it would be that it's a bit generic. But still, this song is amazing.

DjAbbic responds:

Awesome! Glad you liked it.

needs more bass! and when sometimes it comes through it feels inconsistent
load up a visual EQ or something to be able to see where you need more frequencies - and with dance music like you're going for bass is a big part

synths were all great - that saw thing had waaaay too much high end though sounds like theres constantly white noise. The (bass) kinda wubs and wobs (although not really prominent enough) along with the complextro style beeps sounded really well done

i also think that kick needs to be lower - good risers and effects, never really felt empty and I liked the flow and chords (especially around 2:00 :P)

I just loaded it up in an EQ and it seemed to bring out the kick more raising it at 88Hz and I rolled out at about 11kHz to get rid of that white noise (if you didn't understand that then I suggest you research EQing)

annneeeeewayyy great song man keep it up :)

DjAbbic responds:

Haha yeah, I really bumped up the highs on the saws and there was a lot of white noise added to them. I guess I got used to them after listening to this over and over, but I liked how sharp they sounded. They do sound a bit loud in the mix though.

I'm glad you didn't find it feeling empty. That's something that really bothers me and I try my best to make it sound as full as possible.

I'll check out the EQ stuff, but I don't plan to make any changes to this (kind of like keeping a progress report thing, if you know what I mean)

Thanks a lot for the constructive review!

I don't know why, but that intro heavily reminds me of Mass Effect. It has the futuristic feel to it. It kinda gets detuned in the buildup, but that adds slightly to its charm. This is a very complex sound. I love how bouncy this is. The wubs that sound like scratches aren't really loud enough and they sound kind of out of place so I deducted a star. Everything else is magnificent, great work.

DjAbbic responds:

Yeah, it probably sounds that way due to the atmospheric stuff I added to it (reverb and whatnot), but now that you mention it, I can picture this with ME.

And you're right. Those wubs aren't that great now that I listen to them closer. I'll work on that in the future.

Thanks a lot for the honest review, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
