Trying to get this song right pretty much killed me. I obsessed over it so much that it's kind of nuts. I really wanted to top my last 2 songs, which people seemed to like. But for some reason I chose a sad chord progression.

Sad solos are really really hard. I rewrote both solos like 100 times each. They kept on being really redundant and obvious and so I ended up doing some really weird stuff. Sometimes I'd just leave it empty and let the listener fill it in themselves.

Anyway, I think I have at least one good melody in there...

You got some real talent man. I think I like this better than your other stuff. Don't be afraid of the sad chords. I think the last couple seconds with the higher piano notes really finished it off well.

sounds good man, though a few things I heard. around 1:14 the piano sounded out of key or you hit two notes?im not sure what happened. and it sounds like it could use a bit of EQ, or maybe A little less reverb. It just sounds a little muddy. But nothing major I noticed.

I liked the melodies, and theres nothing weird with having a rest, or some silence in the melody. sometimes its better without a few notes.

Thanks for the fast review. As for the thing at 1:14, it is a trill - I tried to make it compliment the one on 1:10. I don't think the one at 1:14 is totally wrong (insofar as there is nothing totally wrong in music) but I guess it can sound kind of weird... which means it might be wrong, heheh.

I think you're right about the EQ and reverb. I need to learn more about that before I write my next song. All the youtube video tutorials I find are like 50 minutes long and the guy keeps going "uh ahh uhhmmm hu err" and I run out of patience haha.
