Unkai (Axelay) NES MMC5

Axelay was one of my favorite games from the SNES days and the music from the first level was burned into my memory after dying so much! I tried to be pretty faithful, but I mixed it up just a little to keep it fresh. :) I hope you guys like it. Oh, and I used 2a03+MMC5 in FamiTracker if anyone was curious.

Axelay is very high on my list of favorite SNES games, and "Unkai" is a great song to boot. The original 16-bit version is a tune that I have (literally) heard looped for hours on end. On top of that, I have heard several remixes, from different artists, using completely different instruments. So, yeah, I'd say you nailed it. Every single note of it!

Are you planning on doing any of the others? I'd love to hear "Colony" or "Mother" given the 8-bit treatment.

One more thing! Hey, supernintendosp, if you want to hear a 16-bit version of this song, go to Youtube and look up the original version yourself. Dumbass!

Aaaah old memories back to my mind :D

Your like, the master of 8bit tunes! Terrific!

This piece of music is one of the very best. However, I'd have to say not your version. You must re-post this one without the 8-bit sound. Or, follow the lead of Kirby's Dream Land III NES style and learn from that. What I know is, this will NOT be receiving a download from me. That's sad as this is one of my very favorite SNES tracks.

vgthing responds:

I can't just post this with no 8-bit sound. I recorded this from an actual Nintendo Entertainment System. Sorry if you don't like chiptune.
