So, this was the first dubstep song I ever made and I think it turned out alright for not knowing exactly what I was doing. It's a dubstep with a few sherlock holmes quotes and it was fun as hell to make. So I hope you guys enjoy listening to this as much as I had fun making :D

Pretty good

Not a real fan of the bridge, but the "elementary my dear watson" right before it dropped sounded pretty good. As crapatflash stated, there isn't a lot going on. I'd definitely like to hear the piano change up a bit. Besides that, it's a pretty good song. Nice work.

Not bad,

There isn't much going on though. There should be more variation in the timing of your wubs. Half-beat and quarter-beat aren't the only settings you can use on an LFO ;) . The "bridge" at 1:25 didn't fit in at all, I'd recommend changing that. You should start compressing your songs so that there is less "space" between instruments of different frequencies. Also, get some practice at mastering your songs, cause the bass kind of overpowered everything else and just drowned it out. Otherwise, this is pretty good.

Ekojo responds:

Very true, those aren't the only settings. Except the LFO in Sylenth1 seemed quite rigid, not too dynamic. I agree about the bridge entirely. I rushed a bit through this song which was a mistake. I'll definitely look into mastering or even just mixing and sculpting the sound itself better because I struggled A LOT with this to make the other instruments heard. I think I compressed the hell out of my kick so it would even be audible. I totally agree again with the how little there is going on. Thanks for the review! I'll keep it all in mind :D

DUDE!

For your first dubstep song ever? this is so sick! MAN! PLEASE TEACH ME HOW TO MAKE THOSE WAH WAH's AT like :53 and especially :56 ... damn, that was so crazy.. what Vst's do you use? the only thing i have to say... is.. you could work on your mastering first.. some parts aren't that smooth sounding.. but thats fine for now.. but you should look into that.. second is the transition at 1:25.. sounds like a COMPLETLY different song,.. to me.. that didnt sound good.. maybe you could've just made that a low gated pad with some piano in the back round.. but really.. other than those two things.. this song is pretty good! :D
Glad to see you are finally on the audio portal :)

Ekojo responds:

Haha yeah this is the first ever, thanks! I think in this one I used only Sylenth1 while in the other one I used massive and Sylenth1. You know for making music for 4 years now I agree with you completely, I still suck at mixing. And yes that completely different song is what I like to call "rushing a song with a poor excuse for a bridge" :P

I know I have to take more time with my songs but I get so impatient sometimes. Hopefully this writers block will help sort that out a bit for my next song. We'll see though. Thanks again Jason :)
