The Silent Rapture - "Carol of the Bells [TSR Remix]"

I think it's a beautiful holiday song, but I wanted to put my own dark twist on it (naturally).

Be sure to listen with headphones to pick up all the sexy reverb and the subtle background texture.
And if you really like it, please let me know and/or help me spread this around. ^__^ Thanks

Incredible

A beautiful twist on the song that just adds a heavy emotion to it that makes this song so deep and just amazing to listen to but the lack of drums is bringing it down to where it isn't as good as it could be.

ShatterTheSky22 responds:

Drums, huh? I hadn't considered it for this song, but maybe you're right. Thanks for the review!

Yes... definately can hear it...

but... maybe stay as true to the original melody as much as possible and introduce it sooner. Either way, you still did a good job portraying bells ringing here, Well done I must say.

Thanks for the score and review! ^__^
I suppose I could've brought out the original melody sooner, but I got a bit caught up in my own material and didn't want to rush it. lol Call it excessive pride I suppose.

Wonderful

This is just simply great. i love the subtlety of it, but also the power of it. it makes a statement. the only criticism i can see is it would have been a little bit better even with a simple drum beat or something to kind of progress it. other than that, i love the chords and the way you put the piano together. nice job :)

if you have the time, check out my new stuff :)

For some reason, when I write a piece like this, I'm so worried about throwing in percussion because I feel like it'll change the mood. I tried it once and never liked it, but that was a year and I think I might be able to pull it off. Like here for example, I probably could have looped this and the 2nd time around had something kick in. I think i'll try that on a new song soon.
Thanks for the score and review, I will look now. ^__^

Pretty good.

I always like piano and strings. They always complement each other.

This is pretty good, and the (slightly unrecognisable) intro really did the trick. I didn't realize I was listening to Carol of the Bells till I gotten to that part. Despite that, the transitions between the different sections were really good.

I think that overall, this song is great, except maybe you should have used a better quality piano soundfont. This one sounds a bit cheesy.

ShatterTheSky22 responds:

Hopefully with Christmas I'll be able to buy a premium software program since I seem to be getting better at this. FL Keys is alright when tweaked, but sometimes it just doesn't cut it anymore. LOL
Thank you very much for the review and score. ^__^

This song gives me chills.

A very dark interpretation of Carol of the Bells. I love it.

IT makes me think of a wintery night near christmas. As the song plays, I envision a black Lincoln towncar with tinted windows making it's way up a winding hill towards a dark mansion on the horizon. The landscape is cluttered with snow covered trees as a light snowfall fills the dark sky.

Good night :)

ShatterTheSky22 responds:

What cool imagery! I love it. Thanks for the score and review!
