Generic Rock Idea (WiP)

I have no idea why I'm posting this xD.

Basically it's ANOTHER WORK IN PROGRESS (making my submitted recent WiP count up to 5 or 6 or something) but oh well, I have exams, so I don't have time to finish these. This uses Virtual Guitarist for the guitars layered with a Heavy Metal soundfont, a Bass soundfont and a soundfont with a Heavy Metal drum kit + some random drum samples. I think that's about it.

Yes, this song is extremely generic, I know... Melody is also simple, and the guitars aren't the best quality, but heck, this is my first proper rock song, cut me some slack :D. That being said, I know you won't enjoy this, but I submitted it anyway. Thanks for listening.

EDIT: Whoever's 5-bombing this, stop it.

Sorry to 5-bomb it...

But you should get this finished. Got some rough ideas on this one I hope...
Although the louder intro closed hihats (0:07-0:11 roughly) should have a little more variety in key velocity, at least in my opinion. At least like every other note should be a little softer, just enough to be noticable. Other than that, I got no problems with this. Oh yeah, except that it's just NOT FINISHED. (Kidding here, just work on it as you have the time.)

Step responds:

Hey, long time no see :3.

I don't really think this has enough potential to be finished, but nevertheless I'm glad you like it. I see what you mean about the hi-hat hit velocities, my songs sound very robotic... it's a bad habit.

Thanks for reviewing!

Ehh

All it is is just an intro for something epic? :P

Step responds:

More like a 1-hour work when I was half-asleep.

Thanks for reviewing xD.

Short but sweet

Obviously if I were comparing this to rock standard I would be more harsh, but I'm not, nor should I. It sounds like a nice rock foundation.

I thought the hi hat was a bit too loud throughout. That's not always a bad thing, but in this case it kinda distracted me from everything else that was going.

I liked that built up to a more energetic point. It didn't take too long, and nit wasn't too fast either, which was a strong part of this loop. Especially in something as short as this there is no time to keep people waiting, and you didn't, so that's good. The guitar was certainly not lacking in any way.

If you can come up with a melody to go on top of this, it will no doubt get some amazing feedback, so if you're working on any full-length rock stuff, I'm we'd all love to hear it.

Nice work!

Step responds:

Wow, 3 new reviews by you. Thanks O.o.

"Obviously if I were comparing this to rock standard I would be more harsh, but I'm not, nor should I. It sounds like a nice rock foundation."

Heh, I'm pretty surprised you said that since this took only an hour. Just did it for practice with the new VST I got, but thanks.

"I thought the hi hat was a bit too loud throughout. That's not always a bad thing, but in this case it kinda distracted me from everything else that was going."

Hm, yeah, now that I think about it, it's definitely too loud. I'll definitely turn it down a bit.

Awesome, thanks. Heh, this actually is a bit similar to the War Theme. Starts softly, and quickly gets more energetic xD. Glad you like the guitar.

Nice work!"

Thanks man. Heck, if I found someone who's willing to sing on this then I'd be glad to turn this into a full rock song :D.

Anyway, thanks for the awesome review!

Notbad

~~REVIEW~~
Ok so i decided to review some of your more current stuff, but i do like to hear ones older stuff before the newer stuff to see how one has improved, now this one here you have is notbad at all, the sound quality seems abit low, could just be me, but i like this sound, it has a good kick to it, there some drums and a guitar so thats pretty neat, guitar being my fave, but anyways this has a nice flow of track, and i did find myself enjoying it, its not matelica but its still pretty good, anyways nice job. im more of a classic rock person so if you have any of that i would love to hear some, as for this piece awsome work.

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
Nothing major and it could be me, but sound seemed slightly low, but like i said not a biggie.

~X~

Step responds:

Well, I have Cobra which is Classical Rock, but I'm not sure if it's exactly Classical Rock. If you like Orchestral instruments with rock drums then you'll like it.
I think the drums were pretty good in this too ^^.
Thanks for the review, as always! :D.

Well...

I'm judging the idea, since it's a work-in-progress, and the thing is... I like it. xD
It's a good intro to a hard rock song, and you really don't need melody in metal music. And... about quality, my "Junk file" is worse, trust me. Even if it's just an idea like this.
Keep up ^^
KKS

Step responds:

Lol thanks, although this is one of my worst recent songs. If you want to see something decent, hear Racing Through Eternity :D.
Anyway, yeah, I'm new to metal so I don't know if it needs a melody or not xP.
Thanks for the review!
