First upload in a forever and a half.

Bought a POD X3 a couple weeks ago, probably my favorite purchase as of late, guitar sounds are greatly improved over my crappy Spider 3 amp.

I've also been taking a few night classes at the local tech college, and they've been quite interesting and allowed me to explore new mixing/mastering techniques as well as play with new technology.

This song is the result of my most recent class, which I finished tonight. Mixing is a little bit rushed, and I had to do some quick mastering for levels at home, but overall I'm quite pleased with it, especially since the intro is actually the exact same melody and instruments that I made in 10th grade on the iMacs and GarageBand that my high school had, so I get a nice nostalgia kick every time I listen to it.

Recorded and mixed with Logic (8, I think), though I use Reaper at home, and I used a couple GarageBand instruments for the pads and drums (God I love the kick sound of the GarageBand drums), and Logic instruments for the bass and lead synth. I used my POD X3 to record all guitar sounds.

5's and 10's please!

Very nice.

Honestly I don't think I have anything to add or whatever. It all sounded very awesome, and I loved how the ending was a throwback to the beginning. Honestly I would have loved to have heard a harmony in that part leading up to like a huge climax in the end, but different minds, different ideas.

And what are you talking about 'crappy Spider 3'? I have a Spider III 75 and have absolutely no problem with it. Honestly I would like to be able to record without having to mix later on, but that's something I need practice with anyway.

You could look into XLN Audio's Addictive Drums. It's pretty amazing, and you can import the samples you already have into it just for random mixing purposes.

Also, since you use Reaper you could get into that Rock Band thing where you create your own tracks to RB and sell them. You could actually make a profit off of it. I sure as hell would buy your songs. Anyway, keep the metal going man.

Kewlness!

This songs pretty awesome. I liked the intro and well also everything else but yeah it has a great melody and, as expected, epic guitar skillz!

sounds pretty fucking awesome. great composition man, and great playing. like you said, the cymbals are a bit loud, but a kickass song nonetheless. great work! \m/

You sir...

Have some nice guitar skills :D
A very nice song, and I love the drums as well :)

ZzEpiCzZ responds:

Only issue I have with the drums are the incredibly loud cymbals and weak snare that I wish I could have reverb'd, but other than that, I agree :D

Thanks for the listen!
