Sorry this response is 7 months too late... sheesh it's been a while since I've been on NewGrounds. Thanks for the kind response... The answer's pretty simple though. It's pure MIDI. My controller is a basic 61 key piano style, so I just basically made a few blank tracks in CakeWalk (but you could use any DAW). I think the only 2 plugins I used were Virtual Sound Canvas and Absynth 4 (mostly default patches although the piano and the whistle sound are modded a little). So yeah, basically recorded the bass like playing a piano to a click track, did a bit of jazz improv over that, added some castinets and ambiant pads track by track, live. Added a reverb filter and that's it. Best of luck in your musical endeavors. :)

Cool! Thanks for the review -- it is appreciated. Part of the reason for the repetition is just because this is Newgrounds and it's not really meant as a standalone song so much as for a background to someone's movie or game, so nothing too elaborate. Thanks a bunch. :)
