Darkness siege song. Many thoughtful and interesting stories
not bad
good job :)
Impressive.
Well done, and impressive. The percussion and expert placement of soft vocals against tinny sounding ... hi-hats? Lo-hats? My audio rhetoric is somewhat degraded, so forgive me. At any rate, it is superb, and I like how you tease me with those little moments of arabic synth cords.
I hope you do not mind a small bit of criticism, however.
It seemed like the whole song I was waiting for something, that the entire song is building up towards some climactic crescendo that just never happened. Especially when you start teasing me with those Arabian sounding synths at 2:42. At this point my whole body was tense with anticipation for the song to suddenly release itself from some kind of bondage it had been placed under.
But no, still the beat repeats and you keep teasing me with brief appearances of those other synths. This is especially prevalent after 4:00.
Now, I believe that what you did was intentional, since you said this song was intended to be a 'dry atmosphere', but all that taunting is just such a bother to me that I had to knock some points off for my review. I am not trying to be a jerk, but the potential of this song is being caged somewhere and it is screaming to be released, it is banging on the bars of its prison and demanding to be let out. I think if you were to listen to the song again with my criticism in mind, you might agree with me.
You're still getting my 5 on 5 though, because this is a masterful piece.
But it can be so much more.
you caught me in my minutes of happiness between weeks of cynicism and misanthropy, and i am inclined to agree with you. if i can hold on to these emotions for long enough i'll rework this song.
Man I really like your DnB stuff!
You have made some really epic Drum & Bass songs.
I always like the combination of ambient and DnB, and you have that combination in many of your songs.
The feeling in this one is pretty dry and shady, kind of like you're in a pyramid, but it's almost like the pyramid is breathing in your neck, watching you. Creepy...
Anyhow, the atmosphere is awesome and it has "room".
Also the beats are cool too. Pretty sharp-sounding percussion and the metallic snare makes it sound like you're in a cave, together with the other sounds.
My favourite out of your songs would be Evening Daydream, as it really is something else. I heard it pretty long ago and was looking for sum music in the AP, to use in a tutorial I'm making. I thought I'd combine about 3 mins from two songs, and make them loop... Or I'd just use one song...
Anyhow I'm thinking of using Evening Daydream as one of the songs.
I'm still looking for another song that I heard pretty long ago...
You have some sweet stuff uploaded here, keep it up!
Another song by me? I foolishly deleted my old account (SonicEclipse) ages ago. I do not know why. It was dumb.
Tanks for the review!
wow, you're back?
the very first time i went on newgrounds, your music was the first i heard on the site, and that was also the last i heard of you
i downloaded your song the instant i heard it, and then you come out with this
this one's better, tenfold, so for that you earn a 10
oh, and btw, also a 5 :)
haha does that mean my other song earned a 1? %(
just joking, thanks for the review and for being a listener for so long, much appreciated. that thing with the percent sign up there, by the way, is a mutant sadface.
thanks,
milosz
