Study No. 4 takes on the idea of Piano Study 3. Repetition becomes lost in the background, and pretty soon even the melodic notes don't mean a whole lot after a while.

A good way through the song, the repetitions dissolve, leaving only a husk of what was once a study, and the piano desperately tries to find its way without the constant pulsing repetition of a C-7maj chord to guide it.
