Sweet Lullabye

Note: To any quick-judge out there, listen to at least 3/4 of the song please. I didn't use the xylophone alone to make this, just be patient.
-------------------------

This "song" came up when I heared my sister humming my niece to sleep with a completely improvised (I think) lullabye.

After a short while I was listening to the melody I instantly came up with an idea and 45 minutes later, this came out.

emotion.....

well it sure as emotion, but it may lack the work to give that emotion to others

first the song is repetitive, I know its supposed to be calm and all,but you got to see people in ng don't see things this simple

also know you show some progression, some notes of the syth that comes by the middle don't seem to flow with the rest of the song

you could had change the lead rhythm at least one time, probably by the middle

the fade out was nice by the end

in general its shows originality, so to help i'll five this ^^

from the darkness in the review request club, Dkrd.....2000 xD

SFaPiL2 responds:

Thanks.

Yup, I was VERY aware of the repetitiveness and I honestly submitted this just to see if all in all the concept was good.

If I understood correctly the synth in the middle of the song that you're talking about is the guitar... I agree, I don't know why it sounded so off-rhythm, damn it!

Good to know it was original.

Thanks for the vote, even though I'm more than sure that my songs are far from being a five (for now ^^).

Why hi there...

Hello again, After having listened to Sp@rk I figured I should try out your other submitions aswell.
I am going to start of by saying that this is one of the best ( original ) melodies I have heard in quite some time.

Why the "low" score then? Well, the thing is that atleast I can't let you off the hook with just a great melody.

I understand that you probably performed this they way you want it to be and I respect that, however I do not exactly share your vision on this one. Your reply to me on sp@rk said that you had problem with putting emotions into your music but I cannot agree. This piece is filled with emotion, but to be honest, your choice of "instruments" and strings ( please don't flame me, I don't know that stuff, only what I want XD ) for this entry didn't mesh at all with the theme nor the melody of it.
Please do not abandon it though! Not to seem like I lack imagination but I am going to tell you the same thing here as I did on Sp@rk. Remake this, Please!

It's too good to be left in the dark. Try remaking it with something more classic like a piano or something fluteish... or both. Anything to make it feel more like an actual Lullabye.

PS: I looped this 6 times. How's that for quick-judging >:)?

SFaPiL2 responds:

THANKS ALOT!

lol... Don't worry, I NEVER flame anyone.

Back to your review. I understand what you mean with the instrument choice. I usually sit down and listen to many instrument sounds (which takes up half the total time in the making, sometimes) before choosing the most appropriate ones. But in this one I took 45 minutes to make and added in the melody of the organ + guitar simply because those were the only things that came into mind in that instant.

Thinking about it, you're right... the guitar and organ don't make much sense with a lullabye, but I was afraid that with another instrument it would've sounded shitty.

Since I have the demo version of Fruity Loops I'll have to do it from scratch in order to remake it, but in this case the structure and tunes are simple, so it should be feasible.

THANKS FOR LOOPING IT 6 TIMES!!!

It's so rare to have patient listeners (especially when the song isn't a masterpiece)

You are officially my favourite reviewer :o)
