My band, Above the Ashes, and I put some new equipment and new recording software to the test and this is what came out. It's still a little rough and I'm still mixing it some.

Ripping guitars, thunderous drums, pounding bass, monsterous growls, and powerful lyrics is what makes up our song 'The Following'.

To record all the guitars, bass, and vocals we used a Line 6 Tone Port UX2 and Fruity Loops 7.0 for the drums and sampling. I mixed everything down using Cakewalk: SONAR 7 Producer Edition.

All advice and constructive criticism is welcome. We hope you enjoy.

Ugh... Yeah.
We liked it for what it was way back then but we knew it wasn't anything too special.

okay then...

Good song. It has great potensial, but I have to agree with CWN, the vocals are off more then I'm all right with. I absolutly think the guitars are kickin' some ass! Nice screechs and the over all song is good, the singings just off. that's the only thing I'd fix.

..........

The overall mix is pretty awesome, nicely produced. BUT:
The snare is too loud and piercing for my taste.

The screaming was damn cool, but the singing... OMFG
It's SO off! The singing ruined the whole song, not because i don't like singing, it was just OFF! Please take it out! or sing in the right pitch or something... sorry
I'd give it a 10/10, but the singing just won't get out of my head....

cool song though...
