I have two sisters. One plays horn, and the other plays oboe. Their birthdays are both in June so I wrote this for them. It's not done, so reviews would be helpful.
This song has recently been updated with improved audio performance.

I agree with everything everyone has already said. The intensity of the piece is very well rounded. The flow is amazing and is one of the best parts. Very smooth. I am definitly impressed with this piece. The complement of the piano to the horn and then to the oboe is a nice touch. The harmony between the three is great.
One thing that might improve it in my opinion is extending it slightly to include more harmonic usage. Also try to include some counter melody. You have three instruments to work with there so maybe try some conversation between the horn and the oboe with an underlying tone from the piano. Might be interesting

I try to think of something helpful for this review, but I'm no expert in this things. The only thing that I can tell you is that in the begining it reminds me of a very popular and classical song, but I just can't get it. °keeps thinking°
I love it how the song gets more and more intense at the end.

Great melodic directions, a remix sound at parts.
A wonderful melodic idea in this piece. So solemn, so subtle, yet so rich with so many vibrant directions. The only thing that had me bothered was the fact it sounds so much like Scaraborough Fair in many parts. It feels almost like a remix of it to be honest.
I know you wrote this for them, but damn my imagination goes wild and I say "What if there was a full blown orchestra playing with at some point..." and then I just sit back and imagine that some more.
Much potential to this piece, do your sisters proud, and congrats on a piece well constructed!

Maestro! It is an honor to have you review this song. I am incredibly pleased to have received such a positive review from a composer that I respect so much.
Now right to the point. One thing that you will be very interested in knowing is the inspiration for this song. I will go ahead and bore you with the entire story. I was listening to Schubert's Gretchen am Spinnrade on the way to teaching a trombone student of mine and when I got there he played Scarborough Fair. I heard the melody with Schubert's sounds of the spinning wheel in the background in my mind and immediately made note of it. I then proceeded to work on an arrangement of the song for a male a cappella group that I'm in, but later decided to add an original melody. Clearly it still bears too great a resemblance to the main piece that inspired it.
As for full orchestra, that is definitely a skill that I need to work on and I think that this would be as good a piece as any to help develop that ability.

The little piano solo drama part that Homero mentioned doesn't necessarily need anything there. I think it sounds wonderful. It's a nice, strong burst. Very..epicish. :D
You know, I always had disliked the horn for some reason..but in this song you have successfully changed that. Speaking of the horn, when the piece reaches 20 seconds, it seems to get a little too loud. Not much, as this is my 5th or 6th time listening :D So I tend to over-scrutinize. Of course, that happens when I make my own pieces--by the time I submit my piece I'm almost sick of it! :O
I can't give enough praise for this..it's sort of struck something in me, if that doesn't sound weird enough.. \=)
It has a very unique feel to it, yet I know it belongs in some elite Central European classical categorey xD I'm overdoing the tiny details. Haha I did this to cycerin, too. Sorry if my first impressions are too long, but I'm just trying to let you know that I am absolutley amazed :D

Hey! lol nice review. I think I could get used to a title like that... let's see.... overall I would agree that the soloists overpower the piano. The piano part is pretty well written if I do say so myself, so it should feel more like a duet rather than a solo with an accompaniment. So I would agree with that. For the piano solo part, I'm glad you thought that it was good, but I'll look it over because it definitely needs some tweaking. I'm always happy when people think a song is as good as I think it is... lol thanks Vesta.
