A brief yet complex solo piano piece.

Even though this is my only submitted solop piano piece here on NG, this is #2 because #1 hasn't yet made the leap from piano to computer. Give it time!! It shall be here soon.

Enjoy.

Piano sounds from EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Gold Pro XP -- Steinway B piano.

NOTE (Apr. 29) - I have just finished putting together the sheet music for this in Sibelius. If you want the sheets, send me a PM.

Amazing...

I know a lot of people (including me) have been comparing you to Debussy, but my wife (B. A. in piano and voice) said you remind her of a cross between Rachmaninoff and Liszt. Your work is a delight.

ooh so good

the song... i don't usually jump into taste so fast, but it's so good so i just said FUCK IT!!! the whole song is perfect!! and i mean perfect. the way it's played, delicious, i can't describe the taste to anything i've had before... so i'll try my best, it just slides down the throat like water does your hair when your in need of a soothing shower. the way it's all connected with no hesitations is sublime! the hole thing is so sapid i can't describe it anymore, i gotta go finish the escargot i had for lunch. this is even better that that tho.

kudos & comendments to you sir

Good God!

Awe. I can imagine this being placed in a huge concert hall.

The energy dips and rises this takes are amazing.

Did you play this live? good god.

Wow.

Well, your work puts mine to shame. Just when I THINK that I have composed a nice sonata, I hear this and my effort goes down the drain. This is definitely high quality. Simply put, it's amazing, though I feel it might be a little rough for a Nocturne. The only thing I hold against the piece is that the ending seems a little weak as compared to the rest of the piece, though it really is a nice extension of theme 2. Bleh, before I go about copying the other guy's review, I'll say thank you.

NickPerrin responds:

Yeah I agree, I began to realize it might be a little intense for a Nocturne. And wow, you totally echo my feelings about the ending. Thanks for the review, glad you enjoyed it!

incredible

Amazing song dude!
I love it.
The part where you have that big major chord, then the diminished chords and then the follow up trill sounds so much fun! (0:56)
Please DO send me the sheet music to this piece
I totally want to learn this song.
Can't wait to hear the first nocturne

-Winter

NickPerrin responds:

Thanks man. I probably should have had that #1 Nocturne up ages ago... and I realize now that this piece itself hardly qualifies as a Nocturne (in the traditional sense/feel of a nocturne) haha... but hey. Whatever. I'll get that sheet music to you as soon as I can!
