Game(s): Final Fantasy 6
Song(s): Dancing Mad, Levels 3&4

HOLY CRAP, IT IS FINALLY FINISHED!

Holy good gravy.

As anyone who's been paying attention to my work will know, I've been planning and creating this mix for about three or four months now. After a long, brutal and frequently-interrupted time of mixing, matching and procrastinating, however, I give you Esperoid: A Tribute to Dancing Mad.

This mix began as a little brainchild. I figured I wanted to do something epic. I really like Dancing Mad - I think it blows everything else out of the water, right from Zeromus to One-Winged Angel (ESPECIALLY One-Winged Angel. Man, I hate that song). So when I started this, my motivation was purely to create something that may but hold a candle to the magnificence of the original. This is, in all ways, shapes and forms, a tribute to the wonderfulness that is Dancing Mad.

So I hope that my mix can live up to it (more of a cover than a mix, really).

Much love to everyone who supported me on the way to creating this, and I hope I fulfilled your expectations!

OMMFG! This is what I call MAD!

Final Fantasy VI has been my favourate FF game since 2002 (Anthologies release for PS1) and NEVER have I heard a re-orchestration-en-synth like this before. This is by far the best reinterpretation of Dancing Mad I've ever heard and, to put it bluntly, both halves were like audioble apples to my ears: They know it should be forbidden, yet it is so good. Nobuo Uematsu would be proud of you. Hold your head high, knowing that you have achieved... PERFECTION!

What a masterpiece.

This song, or rather, both halves of the song are well done, and could easily be listened to as separate pieces. Also, I do like the original "Dancing Mad" portion that was redone in the 2nd half, so much so that I wish there were a stand-alone loop for it. This is a great piece, and I'm glad I spent time listening to it.

bitium-ribbon responds:

Wow.. thank you. I'm very flattered.

Great idea for real instruments

If you could do this with a real orchestra and have your way with the song, you'd be the only one able to surpass the level of epic your rendition has set.
Just a thought.

bitium-ribbon responds:

Good lord, if only. That would make my life.

Best Villian of all Time

Kefka, the villian we love to hate.

Sephiroth tried to destroy the world.
KEFKA SUCCEDED.

End of argument.

epic. win.

OK, I'm trying to forget all about being over-sentimental about your work. I really wish I could add something useful to the other comments, but it just seems that, as NG says, "the people have spoken!" My only complaint is about 4:17 and 4:37... for me, it didn't seem to really flow after the previous part. Other than that, absolutely beautiful and perfect.

Man, I loved your work. I really did.
