Desert Hike

A slice of bread goes for a hike (for whatever reason) in a vast desert thousands of miles from home. The bread spends this time contemplating the meaning of life and the inevitability of death. I started this song a while ago after thinking about existential dread (as one does) at about 1:30 a.m. because my sleep schedule is truly nonexistent during the month of August. I rushed from my bed to my computer, threw together two seconds of music, and then made the rest two months later.

I think this turned out very good. The crunchiness is not nearly as apparent here as it is in my other songs because I actually tried to reduce it. I slightly altered the Dirty Reece preset (used as a bass) and made it a bit quieter. The Rough! track (addicted to this preset) only contains the melody and not the bassline which I think is the chief cause of crunchiness in "The Cave of Courage."

"Sugar Cookies" is still probably my favorite song I've made, but this comes pretty close. This also is my first song which is over three minutes in length, although that is probably because the BPM is only 120 as it has the same number of measures (excluding the last note) as "Across the Sky" and "Sugar Cookies." Also, just a random side note, the sign in the cover art (pictured below) is somewhat based on the Colorado welcome sign because that came to mind for some reason.
