I like the guitar riff
So I finally got most of my stuff sorted out after the disaster that killed my music studio. Got everything installed and mostly working. And decided to try something other than just recording a standard rock track. Get back to what I used to do, which is weird genreless music. Thus this is the result. I took notes from a few things, mainly intelligent drum and bass from the '90s, some new genre called "dreamcore", and my usual weird schtick of just making soundscapes and layering rhythm around them. It turned out longer than I expected because I just kept finding new ways to move parts of the song around and keep the musical journey for the listener going. I might repurpose this as a loop in something later, hence the way that it starts back to an earlier part of the song at the end.
It still includes me playing the guitar, because I can't help myself. I tried going for a more Joe Satriani style of playing in this, where there's lots of jumping around the same root note and playing with harmonics and octave jumps.
