Yo, Immy here with a new track.

Song's title comes from many themes that I thought of, one of them being

"Life with a second half" which imo matches the song the most.

Beforehand, I've been working on improving my current tracks, mainly focusing on ~time~.

Throwback to friday a week ago, I get this melody in my head that I can't stop thinking about. The moment I get home, I instantly record it in FL Studio. Then I add the bass and "your usual" drums and pads. Halfway done, I compose the piano sections. For variation I threw in couple of patterns using the arpeggiator on my pad progression, as well as a lot of automation.

The scores speak for themselves.

I was gonna release this on thursday, but I got recommended that I should redo the mix. Kept staying awake until 3 AM working on it for a few days. I'm pretty sure it's finished.

Not the best way to spend your week, but the result was worth it!

After this, I'll be ttaking a break from music production. Ya know, I gotta focus on school and shi. I may release 1 or 2 songs before end of the year tho.

08.10.24: added a bit high end to the bass and kick, piano melody variation, an additional riser in the second warm-up and small changes to the mix.

pretty neat oldschool edm vibes here, i like the sort of "hammer-iness" of the arrangement, the way the chords and bass hit at the same time as the kick. the piano solo at the end is very good too! the little fills and details throughout are very nice as well. i do think the kick could stand out a bit more, maybe through more sidechaining or a high shelf on the kick. also maybe more generally the mix could use a tad more high end (especially the bass, though this may just be my taste)

I'll try boosting the high end. If you must know I added bass boost to the bass, which is the reason its not so present in the high freqs.

Is the kick not powerful enough?! Literally every instrument is sidechained as well as kick being almost the loudest instrument in the mix.
