The beginning riff to this song had been stuck in my head for quite a while, but now I've finally got it worked into a song that's satisfyingly heavy! I was very much inspired by bands like Spiritbox and Dead Crown while writing the instrumental and with the spoken word voice effects.

Lyrically I wear my heart on my sleeves. I write about some intense mental struggles with self worth and battling with inner demons; I make comparisons of the brain to a "maze" and a "black cage" that I get dragged further and further into.
