This is my submission for the final round of NGUAC. I've noticed that my tracks have been following some very similar patterns lately so I decided to throw my usual style out the window and to make something that is rather experimental.

I hope you enjoy!

I like the majestic chords at the beginning. The rhythm is a bit square, but I like how the higher-pitched tones of the chords soften in the lead-up to :31. The string pads are beautiful, although admittedly the fade-out of the piano/bell chords wasn’t quite gradual enough for my ears to adjust in time. The part at 1:16 sounds really whimsical. The pacing is much slower during this section of the piece, but I like how you brought it full-circle with the initial chords at 2:14. Overall, this is a really cute piece. I think you overused the stop-start transitions a bit early on, but otherwise the composition is pleasant, if not particularly bold. No complaints with the mixing or sound design. Keep at it, Irish-Soul! Thanks for coming out to the NGUAC. ^_^

Thanks for the review and thorough feedback! It's always such a pleasure to participate in NGUAC :)

This deserves all the love its gotten so far, plus much more. Your music is always such a pleasure to listen to, and your style is always very much up my alley, so to speak. My cup of tea! This is nothing short of excellent, as is your usual offering. Good luck in the finals this year :)

Irish-Soul responds:

Thanks so much for the glowing review!

This is probably my favourite piece of yours. I'm glad you are switching up the usual fanfare ending for a more somber one (nice callback with the piano), the chords are really pretty too. Other than strings a tad dry at the start, everything is flawless. Well done!

incredible
i can imagine this being in an animated fantasy film

Holy Hollow Knight vibes in that middle section. This is awesome!!

Irish-Soul responds:

Funny that you say this because I’m pretty sure that the clarinet I used (from ProjectSAM’s Symphobia 3) at the 2 minute mark is the same one Christopher Larkin used in the fungal wastes music
