I recently took a listen to my older songs, which I compiled into The Career Begins. Most of them really made me scratch my head as to what I was even thinking when I made them. But one song from this compilation that I actually unironically enjoyed was this one.

Now, the original was converted to a 128 kbps .mp3 file, and somewhere late 2019, I accidentally uninstalled GarageBand from my iPad before I could make a cloud backup of the projects, resulting in them getting lost forever and leaving me with only the crappy .mp3 files on my desktop.

Fast forward to about a week ago (as of the upload date of this song). After listening to the old Thunder And Rain, I decided that I had to remake it, or at least try. So I listened repeatedly until I got every detail right. This took me about the entire day and evening. Then I placed the .wav file in FL Studio and added a home made field recording of a rainstorm that happened a few months earlier. After some slight tweaking, equalizing and normalisation, I pressed a .wav copy and made sure that I at least had both a backup and a locally stored file of both the GarageBand project and the FL Studio edit so that I would never lose them again.
