Yelkcub - Recalibrate

From scribbling "Re-Cal-I-Brate" on the back of some receipt paper with some basic notes and pitch ideas to a fully realised track.

No joke, this whole idea has spent YEARS living rent free in my head; like 2018-19. But I never found a synth patch that sounded right, and the vox was a nightmare to get recorded and sorted. (It's not one sample, but lots of individual sounds and syllables spliced together)

But I'm really glad I finally managed to get this written down and finished properly. It's not a heavy hitter, and it was never meant to be, but it's something to kinda zone out to and just nod along to.

Some good beats on this one a good dark piece in my opinion to the beats and rhythm are very good

Yelkcub responds:

Thanks for listening! Definitely a dark, minimal tech-house vibe here. Not much going on sound-design-wise, but the ambience and the repetitive vox do a lot of the legwork. One of the ideas for this was a tonal shift during a live set or a mix, going from one kind of "opposite" genre to a darker tech-house vibe for a flip of moods whilst listening.

I'm fan of this type of music ୧(^ 〰 ^)୨
Minimal,trance, psytrance, darkpsy! Everything!

Pretty cool song ୧( ಠ Д ಠ )୨!

Yelkcub responds:

Thanks for listening! Amazing what you can do with a two-note idea and the right sounds.

Quite hypnotic, love that bass

Yelkcub responds:

Thanks for listening! I spent a long time trying to find the right sound for the main bass. Once I had that nailed down, it was smooth sailing from there!
