Soundtrack album inspired by Vire
"Vire (vkt) was an open source voxel engine project I found on Jac Rich’s YouTube channel in the early 2022. At the time it was a simple engine with infinite underground world generation based on 3D Perlin noise, but it gradually developed and many ideas were thrown around in the assigned Discord server.
As a player, you are a miner lost deep below the surface. You are unable to remember your past life or even who you are. There are only a miner’s cap and a shotgun left for you. You stumble upon a stranded ancient city covered in dust. There are eldritch horrors lurking in the dark. I remember there were concepts of weeping angels, biblically accurate angels and some lovecraftian creatures.
Jac went offline for half a month in the February of 2022 but later explained that he was in the middle of moving to another state. He had mental problems and was often unhappy. As his community grew, he seemed to grow more and more depressed. In March he disappeared from every platform he has been active on. He deleted the Discord server and every video from his YouTube channel. There had been rumours going around in which it was said that he had died. Maybe he just decided to live offline without any fan pressure.
I volunteered to write the soundtrack for Jac and began working on it at the end of January 2022. Seven tracks in seven days. The soundtrack in the game was going to play randomly (in the style of games like Minecraft). Additionally, there would have been some scripted music (like Track 5, which during any chase sequence). The cover is screenshot of some structure I created in the game."

It's obvious that the project mentioned above will likely continue to be considered as incomplete. A significant amount of content created by the community was lost due to the deletion. No one knows how the game would have turned out if it was ever released. So the better question to pose is not "What Lurks Beyond These Blocks?" but rather "What Could Have Lurked Beyond These Blocks?".
All the tracks were created by nopeg in 2022, as well as the album cover. We rerelease it here with personal Nopeg's permission.
