Unlike the other WIPs, the name will be final. I think it's very fitting.
I had a riff idea stuck in my head for some time, and when playing around with it before recording, I decided to add an octaver. I liked how it seemed to transform the guitar into something else and made the riff sound sludgey, so I kept it. I decided against using a bass guitar because of both stylistic conflicts and some setup issues that need to be addressed before I record with it again.
The guitars sound the way they do because each track has two simulated amps. Two of the four speakers share the same distortion pedal (the metalzone), but the rhythm track has a big muff emulator for its second distortion and the lead track has a tube overdrive sim. I also added reverb to every speaker to make the guitars sound spacey.
