Quick little reggae-styled beat I made, nothing crazy but I like how it turned out :)

Enjoy!

Very nice, won't go into great detail here because it really won't help at this level, but I will say that you should be very careful with your stereo field and high frequencies. It can really throw off a song. The panning on some of the high percussion (shakers I presume) is too much. Just a little panning goes a long way with those more distinct elements in the song. I also think the volume of some of the shakers may be a bit loud, but I have never worked this type of music so I don't know for sure.

this is really cool but

BrainETR responds:

but what

is that a mellotron in the middle? i'm a huge fan of 70s mellotron-based prog rock so that's instant positive for me.
the bass drum is my only real complaint, and that's that its missing some important low frequencies. it feels like you're making up for the lack of bass in the bass drum by putting a sub-bass note in the same place, which isn't fooling anyone. and maybe add more of the high frequencies to the snare drum to add contrast.

BrainETR responds:

I knew the drums were missing something but I couldn’t put my finger on the exact problem, thanks!

cool beat :)

great song but how did you get the song in gd that fast?

BrainETR responds:

Thanks!
I’m whitelisted in gd which means that all of my songs are instantly available in gd upon their release, hopefully that’s what you meant
