Ah, a classic waltzy Everratic track for the holidays! Love all the mallets and other percussion. The melody writing is a bit more subdued than some of your other recent tracks, but the atmosphere, mixing, and sound design are fantastic as always. The big swell of emotion during the last 15 seconds puts a nice little bow on the piece (see what I did there?). Happy holidays, Everratic!

This is a gift for Albegian for Chipscompo's Audio Secret Santa (ASS). I had a stop-motion style movie of a boy searching for Santa in mind while composing.
His request was:
Make a song in 3/4 using 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th, etc. chords only (it's not mandatory to include at least one of each. It can be only 7ths, only 9ths, etc., doesn't matter. Go crazy!). There are many free chord assistant VSTs and online chord assistants out there so don't worry if you find this task complicated. In my music I love including elements from all sorts of places into one super-salad of sounds such as ""chiptune + orchestra"", ""synths + orchestra"", ""jazz + chiptune"", ""jazz + orchestra"", etc etc etc, so if you wanna do that too, get extra . I initially suggested my request to be of the genre ""ambient"" but this is merely optional, there are no limitations in genre.
I followed the requests to use 3/4 and only extended chords. A few chords might sound like simple triads on the surface but there's always an extension somewhere in the arrangement. I had some fun with the instrumentation and added an accordion, renaissance lute, Tundra pad, and xylophone ensemble to the usual orchestra :)
