this is sick. hope you're doing well my friend.
As one of my favorite scenes for the third book so far, I've gotta say I really enjoyed writing this song. The tempo and mood changes were fun to track, and the tug-of-war nature of the song/scene lent itself to some interesting dynamics.
fun fact: if you're getting close to filling the memory bar in an FL project, use the 64-bit version instead and that memory limit should be extended.

"It drags itself around on the roof like an animal missing its hind legs, the muffled sound of chains being yanked across shingles scraping into our ears. The silence between its grating movements is awful.
"It's on top of the house?" I whisper to nobody in particular, inwardly deciding that I already hate this damned thing. It sounds like a toolbox in a blender."

"Drake pulls his sword from the infinite backpack, pointing it toward the front door. This creature appears to understand despite the fact that I have no idea how it knows what's happening - it reaches down, opening the front door with one hand and beckoning with a few others. It's not afraid. Cold late winter air and soft dusty snow fluff through the doorway as it creaks open eerily."

"in a time-stopping blast of bright infernal brilliance, the whole creature goes Tide-pod-tinted supernova. Caramel stands in the midst; a blinding sky-colored phoenix, her face largely obscured by the hood’s dark fabric and the beast’s orange flame. I tear off after them through the claymore blast of hot spikes while shielding my face, feeling very warm nails slice into the backs of my forearms despite the defensive wall of pure light pouring forth from my body."
