the drum breaks go too hard
this is a very... weird track, moreso harmonically, this track doesnt really use harmony that western music usually plays with, instead opting for stacking minor ninths and harmonic sevenths, hell the tuning system is literally based on the minor ninth, 15 equal divisions of the minor ninth. the tuning system itself has okay fifths, but it has terrible thirds, it has a neutral third but nothing good for major or minor thirds. this is usually a bad thing if your goal is to make a song based on thirds like most western music, but of course this song isnt based on thirds, nor even fifths, as mentioned this track is built on stacking minor ninths and harmonic sevenths, which this tuning does well on.
because of this tracks weird harmonic choice, harmony is... to put it lightly, a bit weird. the melodies in this track follow no guide, just kinda aimlessly wandering, it of course follows the harmony, but because the harmony is already nonsense, the melody is also a bit nonsense.
as for the drops in this track, i've borrowed heavily from genres like breakcore, except with a bit of a glitchy twist to compliment the tracks harmonic and melodic choices. the drums dont really follow a pattern instead opting for, essentially, chaos. combined with the 9/4 time signature the rhythms in this track are as chaotic as the harmonies and melodies.
cool thing by the way: this track was actually started a while ago, but i stopped working on it once i got to the drop, i didnt actually know what i wanted to do with the drop so i kinda just moved onto making other stuff. only recently did i think of this weird breakcore glitchy style thing. beforehand i was actually kinda considering a slower feel to the drop, but i didnt know how to approach it. so yeah thats cool i guess.
enjoy the thing!
