FD - Where Did the Time Go

You are now on the second floor of the building. An hour or two may have passed since landing. You start feeling lightheaded, as prior events fog up in your memory. You initially shrug off the feeling as being merely fatigued from the unusually long detour. You try to heed the residents, but their speech comes off as too jumbled and incongruous to you to be of any help. Additionally, you hear a persistent hiss in the distance that you are confident to be able to locate.

You then suddenly remember that you had something at the lounge. Was the drink poisoned? You have no way of knowing for sure. You don't feel rested enough to climb back up, the elevator is out of order, and the residents don't seem capable of providing any feasible aid. As dire enough of a situation as it is, you decide to catch your breath for a few minutes before resuming your search. Perhaps, you are just being paranoid and the feeling will soon fade away.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Ah, yes I was immediately wowed by the pitchy rhythmic elements when I first listened to this. The crackling in the background fits nicely and I really like the atmosphere. To me, it feels uneasy without sounding like a horror movie, and the beat grounds the piece. My only critique could be that not much happens in the arrangement, but maybe that's exactly the point. I could well imagine this track in a dystopian game level playing on endless loop, setting the atmosphere without getting annoying or boring.

** A NGAIC REVIEW **

o/ :)

COMPLIMENTS:

- Man, IDK if I am being stalked by an SCP, got warped inside the dreaded Backrooms, or am trippin' on some illicit 'shrooms given to me by Slenderman, but this has very creepy Vaporwave / Lo-Fi trappings to it befitting an Analog Horror video. :D

- Love the eerie ambience. ♥ Reminds me of some stuff by M.O.O.N. and songs from the Hotline Miami 1 & 2 OSTs. Half-expecting to start wearing an animal mask and get told by a weird pizza guy on the phone to go shoot up some Russian mobsters holed up in an abandoned warehouse somewhere...

- Love the story that goes along with this too! (Yes, I read it all. ;) )

CRITIQUE:

- Although I did not get bored listening to this (on repeat), I did wonder how much more this could've expanded with a bit of dynamic play with your sounds used. Nothing too crazy, just like very subtle changes in volume--for example--or, pitch shifts. Even like a quick 'dip' in semitones and some ping-ponged panning. At the moment it's pretty static, and if that was the vibe you were going for, you've done it to a fantastic effect. These are more-so just things I thought of as I was listening to it. . . .

This is wacky, but in a good way. :) I very much enjoyed it, as I'm wont to do with weirder, more atypical songs now and then!

Good luck with the remaining layers! :3 I look forward to hearing more from you!

Cheers! Thanks for your feedback :)

This track has a very interesting chill but eerie vibe to it! I really enjoyed reading the text in the comments while listening to this. The textures added in are filling the song super well and the simple melodies just work. Good job! :)

ForgottenDawn responds:

Thank you very much!

Really cool ambiance, and reading too.
I always listen to previous track to rebuild the mood as i think it helps enjoying the following track (s) more.
It will make a nice story/album when completed!

ForgottenDawn responds:

Cheers, thanks for your interest! 🙏
