Alle, psallite ~ Troisnyx ver.

This is a remake of a medieval motet, Alle, psallite cum luya (Halle, sing with lujah), and the only cover in my drum and voice album in progress, Tempus Imperfectum. As is the case with every track on the album so far, nearly all that you hear in this track has been done by yours truly — all the drums, all the voices — except for the mastering on all tracks, done by my friend Richard Patrick Davey.

At the time of writing, Tempus is 40% complete. I hope to make it 50% by the end of the Octave of Easter. June 2023 will mark a year since I began work on this project, to give you an idea of the time and scale of it. This is the only track I am prematurely releasing.

I chose to include this song in my Tempus project because this song was given to me by a close confidant, who empathised with my desire to drum in a sacred context, and gave me this song to encourage me. I imagined a scene at Easter with plenty of drums and dancing, and plenty of room for anyone and everyone to join in the dance. This is how I imagine triumphant music at Easter to sound like. It is a departure from most people's thoughts about sacred music at Easter, for sure. I felt compelled to share it with you all, so here it is. Look forward to the album when it releases!

And with that, I wish you all a happy and restful Easter.

This might be your best song

Troisnyx responds:

Thank you 🙏🏽 I hope the full album shapes up this way!

Wow.

WHY DOES THIS HAVE NO REVIEWS.

It legitimately sounds like a filmscore. Fantastic and moving percussion, gorgeous ambience. Beautiful praise song

Troisnyx responds:

Thank you 🙏🏽 I've admittedly no idea, save that I was moved to share it on Easter Sunday and I was just so overcome with emotion over it. Thank you for being my first review on this ~
