Grieving for the Fallen

Share

Author Comments

The eternal moment of mourning

Of precious people, priceless cost

Softly weeping, emotions pouring

For those who were lost

The pain is delayed and barefaced

A piercing hole from within

Had they not been erased

Who knows what could have been

Memories fade into antiquity

But the path foward remains clear

Never forget their history

Or the will to persevere

Gorgeous composition!

anthonyragus responds:

Thank you!

Ahoy.
This sounds great. Especially the middle, ie the dramatic change.
Excellent instrument control, very good orchestral.
I don't have much to say except that there is an obvious quality. This is movie-ready.
Also best wishes for the finales.

anthonyragus responds:

Yooo, I'm happy you enjoyed it. I'm excited to hear what you'll write next.

Epic classical dramatic song, deserves more listens tbh.

anthonyragus responds:

Hey there, thank you for your kind words. If you enjoy classical and electronic things, there are more on the way.

I mean, I do rate by the tagsā€¦ and it matches a lot, except the piano could be more depressing.

anthonyragus responds:

Hi Yutaf, I was not going for depression, as I'll explain below, but rather an expressive grieving with a swirl of emotions, memories, and imagination of what and who once were and now are.

"Depressing" is a pretty specific emotional qualifer, one that I associate with a lack of, or internal hiding of, expression. It's a muted, dark, thick bog of abject misery, often wallowing without an outlet to pour out or vent.

Perhaps "melancholy" was inappropriate to include as a tag, as it is synonymous with depression, so I've removed it. Thanks for commenting.
