Years ago on Quora someone asked what people would want Batman to say. Most fans just used pages from comics with quotes that were memorable, but never used in adaptations be it shows or movies. I myself decided to take it to the next level and come up with a statement a seasoned Dark Knight would most likely say after decades of fighting crime. From petty crooks to Gods and Demons. For context, a young petty thug moved from Metropolis to Gotham City. Basically the Gotham equivalent to getting a new job and on his way to an interview. During his first ever mugging said thug made a huge mistake. Petty crime was at an all time low even with Supervillains hiring thugs for muscle. Even someone as psychotic as the Joker would know better to use petty crime, because he knows Batman would be there to take care of that. The other part of that huge mistake, was the spot he picked. Crime Alley. Where Bruce Wayne's Parent's were killed. Batman, who has seen crimes come and go from that place was this close to having a record for no crime in a year. Literally just a day away from said year. And this dumbass decides to mug a family. Needless to say Batman has had enough and sent him a message in person as a means to discourage it.

Now bare in mind as much as you "Purists" insist Batman doesn't kill, even citing comics, shut up. First off he has killed before. The No Kill Rule is a retcon. Second of all there have been moments in his career even with that rule in place, in which he had no choice but to take a life. The main one being when he sacrificed himself to kill Darkseid. Third. Criminals are scared of him for a reason. If he was just going around kicking the crap out of people, even with his own scary demeanour, that novelty would wear out right away. The reason why they're scared of him is because they're afraid he's gonna kill them. Even if he doesn't. And Batman wastes no opportunity making sure they keep that fear.
