I decided to join in on the Jamuary one-song-a-day challenge in the audio forum. To make things easier I'm gonna aim to make loops instead. Today I managed to find enough interest and time to make a bite sized track.

Music people, join in on the one song a day challenge. It's a great way to tune up song writing skills and farm new ideas. Not getting trapped on one project and writing something new daily for a month let's you amass a small pile of 30 WIPs instead of one really smelly project that wasted your entire month. Make loops if you can't commit the time.

Hello Quarl? Remember me? So uh, the beginning of song was extremely good. But the song itself is kinda "Meh" this strange arp or gate is sounding so not melodic, maybe someone else will like it, but not me. Good luck with not burning out because of January.

I'm into hella atonal genres of dnb. 15 years ago dnb was described to me as "mostly chromatic" which of course isn't true but for a lot of those "bass leads" it often is. Sorry your not into this much, mix is pretty bland tbh.

I feel like my music lacks because I spend too little time on it, as I already spend no more than a day on my songs. I don't rush it or anything, but i look around all over the internet and see people spending weeks/months on projects and here i am, sittin' in my bedroom getting it all done in a couple of hours. Anyway, great song, way to start jamuary:)

Music can be beautiful in the moment with sticks and one or two vocal harmonies or it can be a symphony of complex sounds and ideas practiced over a lifetime. Music is a diverse and layered phenomenon, enjoyed from many perspectives and written from many voices. Thank you for the kind words Casper.

Imo, your music doesn't lack anything but an audience. Most artists exude talent but the thing to remember is that talent is common. What isn't common amongst artists is marketing skills, professional behavior, a deep psychological understanding of why we create things and how to convey feelings... artists are creatures. You are a creative dynamo. Feel free to spend too much or too little time on stuff, the most important part should be how the process makes you feel. If making your music gives you joy than the means will always justify the ends, regardless of outcome :D
