Here is my NGUAC entry for the first knockout round. I will edit this description when I have time.

Ahh, I got my submission in on time with 5 minutes to spare. It's unfortunate that I had to make this song like this, I may rewrite certain aspects of this song in an updated version after the competition. For now, this is what we got.

I remember when I got the news that I made it to the first round of NGUAC, I instantly felt a wave of dread over me. Mainly because I knew I wouldn't have much time to actually write music, because I wasn't allowed into my dorm (which had my computer) until the 20th. That would give me 9 days to make a track... as I start college.

Juggling school, work, music & my social life was hard the past 9 days, but I'm glad I was able to get things done. I'm glad I was able to actually finish this track for once. Sometimes it feels like my hard drive is just a graveyard for unfinished songs & projects.

This song was made under severe crunch time, and there's a few quirks that I wasn't exactly able to patch up (mainly exporting issues). For example, random instruments like cymbals or french horns cut out when they're not supposed to. FL Studio was crying by the time I finished this track.

I had a few other bumps besides exporting issues. This morning one of the main sections of the track had a pivotal VST glitch out. I had to rewrite the entire section and that took a HUGE chunk of time I allotted time to compose the track. That's why I had to scramble to finish the track.

I also used a huge variety of software, from expensive, cheap, to free.

Thanks for reading! I know I discussed how hard this track was to make, but I actually enjoyed every second of it. I'm glad I have this track in my portfolio, and I can't wait to write more fantasy tracks!
