From a class last Spring, I arranged the first part of Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik for a large, modified percussion ensemble (includes piano/celesta and harp). Part of the requirement was to make a 30-second break with no definite pitch instruments - including timpani. I decided to take it in a very lighthearted direction and went a bit more bombastic with instrumentation rather than change or re-contextualize the source material. Other students were very successful at creating something new out of the old, but I enjoyed taking the simpler approach for this particular challenge. Sheet music was also created as part of the assignment, but it's stuck on a spinning drive that I'm currently trying to resuscitate :x
