Might be something you hear in a Classic stage from Generations or something.
I agree with the other reviewer who said it's got a great old-school Sega vibe. But I'd go back a step and say this feels more like an old Epic Megagames/Apogee PC game from the early 90s, very much like something out of Jill of the Jungle or Commander Keen.
Definitely got that classic SEGA feeling. I think this would be even better at a faster tempo!
