Wingseed is a highly unusual song for me. I hadn't worked with samples as more than sound effects since I made Carbonic in 2018, despite never having stopped singing regularly. I also had been criminally underusing GarageBand's effects rack, since the hundreds of alterable parameters intimidated me. But with Wingseed, I braved my way through both issues: All sounds in this song are samples of me humming, singing or whistling, with some vocal percussion thrown in. I then heavily relied on the effects rack and audio editing tools to make the samples sound good. Though I'm certainly still learning, I'm proud of the final result. I hope you enjoy it too!

The Canopy EP is inspired by a few things. Firstly, I absolutely loved playing through the game Night in the Woods. Its soundtrack is amazing, and to some degree I wanted to convey the same style as Alec Holowka's blend of acoustic and electronic sounds. Secondly, I've been enjoying nature recently, as the winter recedes and spring's perfect weather sets in. This EP is titled Canopy to convey the happiness of being among plants and nature. Thirdly, I want to get better at posting music soon after I make it, rather than posting an album only once every six months. Posting more frequently will mean I post music when I feel the most emotional connection to it, before the perfectionist attitude sets in. This way, I can enjoy the process of making art and music rather than stressing too much about nitpicking and marketing releases. I hope you enjoy the music!

Hi, I'm Gizmote (he/they)! I like music so much that I started making some myself. I started making music in 2017 under the name GizmoDude8128 and have been releasing songs frequently ever since! My music tends to fit in genres such as electronic, EDM, ambient, and chiptune, but I've also done a bit of orchestral, techno, and synthwave.
