One of my favourite areas in Wizard City is Firecat Alley, and that's really because I'm a sucker for warm colours.

The map's layout is just so wonderfully fantastic to me; pieces of the land broken off and floating innocently nearby, the red skies which instill both a sense of unease and odd tranquility.... it's just pretty cool to me.

Anyways, rambling aside; Firecat Alley's palette learns towards warmer pigments - houses are typically red and orange, hence the title. "Red Houses" didn't have as nice a ring to it I guess...

With this track I aimed to have a nice blend of baroque elements –– the timpani, an orchestral loop which pops in and out, and also the whimsical harpsichord arpeggios –– as well as electronic / lo-fi bits, such as the sampled drums and bit crushing, metallic FM synth lead, and deep sawtooth bassline running throughout. Also some soothing noise during the mild switch-up at 2:00.
