Hello everyone!

A friend asked me to make boss battle music but I ended up creating something that'd be more fitting for a menu song.

"A cat got shot but a laser beam baaaaaaawwww"

I decided to get more jazzy chords instead of the ones that I'm used to. I messed around with chords till I got a progression I liked.

This was a lot of fun to make! I hope you all enjoy it.

sounds pretty good on loop

One of the tags is cello; I’ve played that since the third grade (when I was 8) and it remains my favorite string instrument, including piano in that category. A cello solo would have been very nice at some point. Speaking of piano, the chords remind me of those jazzy christmas song remakes, yet remain very original and fun to listen to. Melody is pretty good, but it ends very abruptly which is something you fixed in the 2021 competition.

Tangerine responds:

Thanks! The reason why it ended so suddenly is that it's a loop, not a song. I made this for my friends game so it's going to loop over and over until the player loses touch with reality. Cello is such a beautiful instrument and I've been thinking of using it as the carrier of the main melody. I have a soft spot for all of the instruments in the strings family since the first instrument I learnt was the Violin. I used a lot of generic jazz chords in this piece so that's probably why it sounds like jazz Christmas remixes.

Sounds hella groovy

Tangerine responds:

haha, thanks. Jazz is always a fun genre.

cool shit

Tangerine responds:

thanks

10/10 ign
