The original version of Angels was a turning point for me in 2016, when the song was released. At the time I wanted to improve my production skills and overall quality of my songs so I studied and reverse engineered a bunch of popular edm songs.

I wanted to make more powerful drops and experiment with different styles of house music. If you take a look at my older songs you will find out that before Angels I really haven’t made that many house songs. Sure, there are some but I mostly released techno, dubstep and dance music before Angels.

Okay so let’s fast forward to 2019 because I actually started working with Angels 2.0 in late 2019. Angels has been one of my personal favorites for a long time so I wanted to make an Angels remix too. However, back in 2019 I didn’t like the remix so I dropped it and started working with different songs. About a year later in late 2020 I picked up the project again and finished it this time.

Angels 2.0 is a bit different remix than my other 2.0 remixes. My other remixes typically use the same melodies than the original songs but everything else has been changed. However, for Angels 2.0 I completely changed all the melodies and chords but kept the same synths, sounds and structure.

I did that because I wanted to change things a little bit and I think it sounds pretty good like this! I mean, who said that all 2.0 versions must use the same melodies & chords? What do you think about the song?

I also know that many people were expecting that this remix would feature some vocals. Well there is a chance for that if you just stay tuned for a little bit longer…
