Lofi, or low fidelity, is a genre based on low quality samples. This low quality sampling often pick up one's feeling of memory, or nostalgia. Sampling from old games is common in the lofi industry while others produce their own sound, sometimes keeping a melody of a song people reminisce. The feeling of nostalgia can be link to remembering past memories but isn't always the case. Making a melody from scratch and making it sound old is another common thing producers do as it's easier and it avoids the chance of a middleman requesting to take the song down. Why did I say all this? Because fuck you, you read through this shit lmao. it's 3 am and I can care less on what happens to me rn.
