"It would be great to die on Mars, preferably not on impact."

This song was performed and recorded with Ableton Live 10 in 2019 for my virtual band, Sleepycat, and is part of the album Dreams of Mars. It seemed like a fitting time to share the rest of the tracks, what with Perseverance landing on Mars and all. I definitely can't spell Perseverance without spellcheck. The red squiggly lines are a lifesaver. Have you ever spelled something so bad that not even Google has a clue what the H you're trying to say? "How to remavn vspoagetti frofm keyboiar? Anyways, thank you so very much for listening to my song. You're a wonderful person and I'm thankful you're a part of my life. As always and until the end of forever, you're free to download this track and use it however you like. Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to get back to not writing this sentence.

What a quote to begin this with! XD Your descriptions man... does that go hand in hand with the music? Did you make this with that in mind? Is it an afterthought or an intention that permeates the full piece? I wonder...

Again it's a really solid track, atmospheric and spacey, ominous at times but more so mysterious... early on I felt like it reminded me a bit of DOOM, but as it builds it certainly takes a different route entirely.

I do spell plenty of words so bad that Google has no idea what I'm trying to say. XD Usually that happens when I somehow manage to omit a whole syllable or so of the word, not just switch a single letter. For the most part it does do a pretty good job with those checks...

How to remove spaghetti from keyboard: primarily cloth or paper, I'd assume. XD Fascinating how as long as the structure and context remains similar you can read just about anything with ease, no matter the spelling. AI's still got a long way to go there!

I do appreciate that you wrote that sentence though. Your descriptions are something else - in the best way.

As was this music. A little monotone towards the end maybe but still such a journey...

Bertn1991 responds:

The description was just an impromptu stream of consciousness. Definitely an afterthought lol. And you're definitely right about that being able to read garbled text as long as the structure is kinda there. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘲𝘤𝘶𝘪𝘬 𝘣𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘹 𝘫𝘶𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘥 𝘰𝘦𝘷𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘻𝘢𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘨.

And heck yeah, thanks for listening. Always good to hear from you :-)

This is really cool! It felt like this great big blend of moods to me: adventurous, ominous, mysterious, optimistic, uncertain... it felt like there was a story being told here, with a solid start, middle, and end. This would make a great track in a game or a movie. It actually reminded me a lot of the track Red Soil from the Metroid series, funny enough - both in terms of the mood and the music itself.

Oh, and I know where you're coming from in the author comments. For me, "occurrence" is just one of those words that's never gonna come out right for me without spell check. It just sounds to me like it'd be "occurance", y'know?

Bertn1991 responds:

I appreciate this lovely comment. The beginning actually uses radio emissions from Mars to create the eerie tone. You can do this to "listen" to all the planets and even the Sun. Pretty neat. And Metroid was definitely a big influence for this album and this track especially.

And yes, words are hard >.<

Some people believe that Mars was not a planet, but rather a moon of another major that was destroyed, forming the asteroid belt. Too much fantasy? Who knows...

Bertn1991 responds:

Ooh, that's interesting.
