When I was younger, I had to be taken to my Mom's boyfriend's house on the weekends. I also got to see my Dad when we went there. This song was made from the memories of just sitting in a car for 3 hours, mostly at night. The places we saw weren't extravagant, just ordinary places. It had a feeling that you could only really experience by doing it yourself.
