Almost every remix of Lunar Clock ~ Luna Dial that I have in my library I love. But before I had heard any of them, over a year and a half ago, I tried to make my own. It was good, or rather, the intro was good. Every time I listened to it, I would listen to the intro and then skip to the next song when it started playing the melody with the same instruments.
And then a few months ago, I set out to fix it. I changed up the instruments and tried to make and alter the melodies of the original. It was going well, but like what happened in my first remix, I got stuck after the intro. I had a great intro, and an interesting melody to come after, but I couldn't figure out how to transition them and I had no vision for the rest of the song. And then I forgot about it.
And then a few days ago, I remembered it. With a little more experience from the last few songs I made, and some new artists for inspiration, I set out to finish it, and I finished it.
It was tough, I'd never done a whole song in a different time signature. I've done parts in 3/4 and 5/4 but this time, the whole song was in 3/4. It was hard, my mind kept trying to make everything fit 4/4.
In the end, there still some things I wish I did differently that I just don't know how to do well. I wish the energy changed more throughout the song. I feel like its a bit boring. There's something wrong in the mixing that I couldn't figure out. Oh well. Maybe by the time I finish another Touhou Remix album I'll be able to make a refix version.
