I rather liked this and how it didn't feel cut and paste. It was more of a composition than just a standard track. This gave it that special feel. It doesn't feel too abrasive. I will say that the kick sounds kind of thin for this unless it's intentional that's the only critique that I really have. Very well done!

I tried my hand at Synthwave/Retrowave, I admit it wasn't as easy as simple 8-bit melodies as I had to work with multiple layers and sound textures. You can hear different time signatures (the drums), I wanted to give a feel of tension and uneasiness.
Inspirations :
- Hotline Miami 1 & 2 soundtracks. I really liked how most tracks sounded melancholic and sometimes "harsh" as opposed to the feel-good cookie cutter Synthwave songs we got in the past 6 years.
- The Alien 3 on Sega Genesis soundtrack.
The reason for the lengthy song duration is that I also wanted to incorporate elements of ambient music, separated by "phases".
I almost exclusively used the u-he Diva VST and Ozone 9 for mixing.
Though there are some things I wish to modify, such as the non-existent buildup in the beginning where the drums simply start playing and it sounds really abrasive imo.
