I have used this song in one of my GD Levels! And it's really good, keep up the good work!
Hello! This is my submission for the videogame challenge. I decided to do a completely orchestral arrangement for this, and tried to really encompass the idea of the Hero's Journey within the track. To start, I have an emotional, and uplifting piano progression, followed by the Hero's melody on Violin. I tried to create a noble, but forlorn and questioning melody to show the turmoil of the hero, the child with great expectations forced upon them. This progresses until the horn takes the melody, in which the nobility of the horn tone colour denotes a change, still forlorn and questioning, but with some level of certainty and decision.
Next, the Demon King's theme, interspersed with the Hero's theme, showing the battle of two forces, culminating to the end in which the hero is left alone at peace, having completed his quest to bring back the peace and prosperity of the world, although the music still does not resolve and come to a complete rest, because the world will always reside in an unsteady balance between chaos and order.

Hey thanks! I didn't realise my songs could be used in GD!
Great use of a lot of orchestral colors and I like how the hero's theme reappears in different contexts through the entire track. I like the second half of the track more than the first one, the different elements sound more coherent there and I also really like the demon king's theme. The two brass lines work well there, as well as the interspersed elements of the hero's theme. The exposed violins starting at 0:24 unfortunately don't do the track any favour in my opinion since they are a bit jarring (too loud) in the beginning and also a little stiff. Some variation via Midi CC in dynamics (or volume, if you're using BBCSO Discover) could improve the sound a lot there (also in other places, for example for some of the flutes in the end, around 3:41 the high flute is too loud in my opinion). The big cymbal crashes starting around 1:29 repeat a bit too often for me and much of the percussion in that section doesn't really connect with the rest of the track for me, perhaps it would need more or some different reverb.
But overall, you have a very nice composition going on and musically transfer the melody through different instruments and moods.
Thanks for the constructive feedback!
Great track. I really enjoyed the uplifting theme followed by that sudden shift in tone in the second half. Gives an interesting contrast in mood. The strings at the beginning could use some tweaking to make it sound a little more realistic. Otherwise, I love it.
Yeah, if I had the money to afford better strings I would get them, but the BBC Symphony library did it's job! I'm glad you enjoyed, thank you :)
Hello valdamaer,
So, this song is like not totally done, the sound of certains instruments sound better than others, the arrangement with the rising repetition il the second part is really looooong!
